Barbizon Lighting Company’s NYC location is looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our Technical Services team! Have a knack for fixing things? Enjoy working with your hands on moving lights, HMI’s, or even fog machines? Do you appreciate lighting gear, from vintage studio fixtures to the newest LED panel?

We are looking for a Service and Repair Coordinator to support our Service Department and run our repair bench. Our customers range from the smallest event spaces to national news networks, film studios, and Broadway.

Come work with a team of experienced individuals to support entertainment and architectural lighting customers all over New York City and beyond.  We work with everyone from high profile news networks to school auditoriums; Broadway houses to corporate towers; performance spaces to public access studios and everything in between.

Job Duties:

  • Answer incoming service and repair calls to triage and diagnose client issues
  • Bench diagnosis and repair of theatrical, broadcast and film fixtures, moving lights, and grip equipment
  • Coordinate with manufacturers on repairs and services that cannot be completed in house
  • Work with customers to identify the cause of failure and help prevent future issues due to improper use
  • Keep up to date with manufacturer repair certifications and attend repair trainings
  • Support Technical Services Manager


  • Knowledge of both stage and film lighting fixtures, along with their typical usage in the field
  • Experience with both electrical and mechanical systems
  • Effective communication both technically to product support technicians and concisely to customers
  • Familiarity with lighting brands (ETC, Arri, Vari*lite, Martin, and Altman, to name a few)
  • Self-motivated while being able to collaborate with others
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maximize workflows and turn around repairs in a timely manner
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Any manufacturer repair certifications are a plus!
  • Driver’s license required

The salary range for a Service and Repair Coordinator role at Barbizon Lighting’s New York City location is currently $45K to $55K per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware extensive lighting industry experience or specific skills that fully match or exceed what is required, may in fact also increase this range to compensate for that expanded expertise.
