Barbizon Capitol is in search of an ambitious individual with a production background and a solid grasp of technical expertise. This role entails driving and nurturing business relationships with both new and existing clients in a fast-paced, ever-changing industry.
The responsibilities associated with this position encompass, but are not restricted to:
- Collaborating with clients to assess their needs and provide appropriate solutions, whether involving sales of pre-packaged goods or the development/design/installation of systems.
- Taking proactive steps to seek out and engage potential clients, aiming to expand and enhance business across different market sectors. This includes conducting site visits, reaching out through emails and phone calls, as well as engaging in regular client meetings.
- Maintaining exceptional customer service and support in all aspects of the job at all times.
- Nurturing customer leads obtained from the website, managers, proactive outreach, trade shows, and other valid sources, with the goal of turning each lead into a loyal, long-term client.
- Personally visiting client prospects on-site with the objectives of understanding opportunities within their space, building strong relationships, meeting key decision-makers and influencers, and conducting necessary site surveys for existing or emerging opportunities.
- Following up with potential and current clients who have pending quotes, addressing inquiries, and working towards closing sales.
- Collaborating seamlessly between Barbizon Products & Expendables and Systems Integration departments for project execution.
- Delivering effective equipment demonstrations through compelling presentation skills for clients, trade shows, or community outreach.
- Staying updated with the latest industry technology, trends, and approaches through continuous education as applicable.
- Engaging with vendors during their visits, seeking opportunities to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques, and exploring possibilities for joint events.
- Submitting weekly reports to Sales Managers and participating in weekly sales meetings.
- Participating in local tradeshows and other events sponsored by Barbizon.
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A robust understanding of film and television lighting equipment and its practical applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication.
- Excellent organizational capabilities.
- Competence in computer usage.
- High levels of motivation.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with related equipment.
- Preferred sales experience.
The salary range for a Sales Associate at Barbizon Lighting’s Alexandria location is currently $45K to $65K per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware extensive industry experience or specific skills that fully match or exceed what is required may, in fact, also increase this range to compensate for that expanded expertise.
