The Systems Division specializes in the Design and Integration of lighting control systems within the architectural and entertainment industries, such as broadcast studios, theaters, educational institutions, themed environments, building facades, spires, stadiums, bridges, and many others.

Your Role: Project Manager As a Project Manager at Barbizon New York, you’re orchestrating the success of each project. Your role involves diving into the dynamic world of construction, coordinating with a network of professionals to bring lighting and rigging installations to life. The Project Manager will plan, manage, organize, and execute complex projects for the organization’s customers.  The Project Manager partners with manufacturers, contractors, customers, and consultants to execute contract work, layout system designs, review construction documents, track progress, coordinate and attend job site meetings.  In this role, you will manage relationships and product implementation efforts to produce the best possible outcome for the projects and to secure future business opportunities.

Your Impact:

  • Engage directly with customers and manufacturers to steer contract work from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate logistics, from deliveries of materials to system designs, ensuring every detail aligns with our high standards.
  • Dive into construction documents, ensuring clarity and precision, while tracking the progress of each project.
  • Lead and attend jobsite meetings, being the linchpin that connects all facets of the project.
  • Communicate and collaborate in-person, virtually, and via correspondence with onsite, internal, and external stakeholders, providing required information to manage projects, programs, and systems.
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Coordination and sequencing with all trades, manufacturers, end-users, and other stakeholders.
  • Apply knowledge of construction methods, construction processes, and regulations.
  • Serve as primary contact for vendors, subcontractors, installers, and customers.
  • Oversee and approve submittal drawings, scheduling, purchasing, and subcontracts.

Skills and Qualities We Value:

  • Strong background in technical theatre, studio work, or project management, understanding the nuances of lighting and rigging.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, adept at navigating and resolving conflicts.
  • Articulate communicator, with prowess in both verbal and written forms.
  • Organizational skills, attention to details, and capable of juggling multiple projects with grace.
  • Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiar with CAD; construction experience is a plus.
  • A valid driver’s license, ready to engage with projects and teams.

The salary range for a Project Manager at Barbizon Lighting’s NYC location is currently $65K to $90K per annum, depending upon experience. Please be aware extensive industry experience or specific skills that fully match, or exceed what is required, may in fact increase this range. We strongly encourage all to apply.

In addition to the base pay listed here, Barbizon offers a generous compensation package including medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, profit share, and a matching 401k Plan at no cost to the employee.
